Existence Itself Is an Error Ch 07

 Chapter 07

“You’ve been staring at me for a while now.”

It was exactly as the schoolgirl said. He rested his chin on his plate, not even touching it, and stared at Seo Hee jun with a fierce, blazing gaze.

What was it that he was so upset about that made him look like that ? Looking at his face, i remembered how he’d suddenly come to me during break time and started rambling about other women and the person he liked.

‘Did my sister really tell me to crack down on this ?’

That was the most plausible answer, but I personally didn’t understand it.

Seo Hee young wasn’t the kind of person who would be terribly concerned about Seo Hee jun, and she certainly wasn’t the type to send people away because she didn’t trust her high school aged younger brother. She might have secretly cherished him, her only remaining family member, but she never directly expressed it to Seo Hee jun.

And leaving all that aside, why did she suddenly order Seo Hee jun, who had been living an upright life without causing any trouble, to be disciplined ?

Even as Seo Hee jun walked, he glanced at the man sitting there blankly. Even as he received the food on his plate and expressed his gratitude, Seo Hee jun’s gaze remained fixed on him.

Of course, he was still a man with many questionable aspects, even his name, which i couldn’t immediately identify.

But when i saw him, my body moved before my thoughts even crossed my mind.

“Seo Hee jun, where are you going ?”

Yeah, just like now.

“I’m sorry, but i think i have to eat with that senior.”

Seo Hee jun, after asking his friends for their understanding, turned away. Perhaps he hadn’t expected them to come to him, his eyes widening in surprise.

Seo Hee jun smiled brightly and placed the plate in front of him.

________________

From the moment Seo Hee jun left the classroom and stood in line for lunch, i planned to stick close to him until he safely received his meal, ate it, and returned to class. But i missed the timing and couldn’t do it.

As soon as the lunch bell rang, i rushed to Seo Hee jun’s classroom, but he was nowhere to be found. Thinking he’d already gone to the cafeteria, i hurried, but as expected, i couldn’t find him.

I had no choice but to receive my meal and sit down, but then i saw Seo Hee jun entering the cafeteria.

‘Surely you weren’t avoiding me on purpose.’

Thinking about it, my already unpleasant expression grew colder. I paid no attention to the coldness of the food on my plate, and continued to watch Seo Hee jun intently.

At that time, Seo Hee jun appeared to be whispering to the female student standing next to him.

“What ? What’s your relationship ?”

I opened my mouth, knowing that whatever i said would not reach Seo Hee jun who was so far away.

“Is this the person Seo Hee jun will fall in love with ? Or is this someone he already likes ?”

It was only an hour ago that i asked Seo Hee jun if he liked anyone. Back then, he didn’t seem to be hiding anything, so if he liked that girl, it meant his heart had already begun to move.

‘Seo Hee jun is a gold digger, after all.’

This is why i couldn’t take my eyes off Seo Hee jun for even a moment. I was so anxious that i’d put aside class and everything else to stay by his side, thinking it was the hundredth time i’d felt so relieved.

While i was lost in my confusion, Seo Hee jun suddenly noticed me and started looking this way.

Still, i didn’t expect Seo Hee jun to abandon his friends and come to me. Even if he were gentle and oblivious, and let his guard down overnight, i knew it wouldn’t be enough to make him approach me first.

‘If Seo Hee jun doesn’t come, i’ll have to go.’

As i was thinking that and preparing to get up from my seat, Seo Hee jun, who seemed to be chatting with a female student for a moment, changed direction. He soon approached the table where i was.

Seo Hee jun met my eyes, his expression blank, and smiled brightly. Then he put down his plate and confidently took his seat across from me.

“Why are you eating here alone ?”

“…….”

“And you’re glaring at me with such a murderous gaze ?”

As i was silently moving my lips, Seo Hee jun added.

“Thanks to you, my friends were worried about me. They asked if i was being disliked by my senior.”

Friends. That word lingered in my mind. Because of that, the fact that Seo Hee jun had come to eat with me without my request had faded into the background of my memory.

‘I guess that girl is included when you say friends ?’

The female student that Seo Heenjun likes, or suspects that he may already like her.

I glared at Seo Hee jun without even trying to hide the discomfort that spread across my face.

“It’s only been a day since school started, but you seem to have quite a few friends. Especially your girlfriend.”

I pronounced the last four letters of the word as if chewing them. Seo Hee jun, who had been blinking at me, furrowed his eyebrows.

“It’s already been a day since school started, but you don’t have a single friend.”

Ha, I let out a soft laugh.

“Because of whom ?”

“Is it because of me ?”

“It’s because of you.”

Without a male or female protagonist by their side, people couldn’t have distinct facial features, speak properly, think clearly, or act properly. So, even if it wasn’t his intention, it was certainly a contributing factor.

Of course, even if they could live normally without Seo Hee jun, nothing would change. Until this world ends, I’m in a position where i have to stick with Seo Hee jun and make him confess to the female lead.

That’s why i had to make sure to go over it.

“Who was that guy earlier ? The guy you like ?”

“Yes ?”

“There’s that girl you talked to while waiting in line for the cafeteria.”

Seo Hee jun would do well to answer. Unless he wanted the woman he liked to be kidnapped by some unknown entity.

Seo Hee jun, who had no idea that the person in front of him was thinking harsh thoughts, nodded without hesitation.

“Why do my thoughts always drift towards romance ? It’s not like that. We just became close after chatting during our free time.”

But that wasn’t a very satisfying answer either. I saw her flirting with another woman on the playground and went to her to warn her, but in that brief moment, she’d already started a relationship with another woman.

‘Anyway, i won’t listen to what you say.’

He sighed and rubbed his eyes, which felt like they were stinging.

‘Still, i guess you don’t really like anyone yet.’

It was a blessing in disguise, as it was something that gave me some peace of mind.

Still, i was nervous and tired. It was hard to even fathom how many times a day my heart would sink because of Seo Hee jun.

Seo Hee jun stared at me and then opened his mouth.

“Senior, i was about to say something like, ‘I told you not to make eye contact with other women.’”

He bit his lip without replying. But Seo Hee-jun shrugged, as if he was already convinced.

“But what are the criteria for a woman ?

Is it true that i can’t associate with anyone other than my older sister ?”

“…….”

“I’ve asked this several times already, but is it true that you’re monitoring me so I don’t date ?”

That wasn’t it. Seo Hee jun already had a wife named Jung Da won, so he was simply referring to the others as extramarital affairs.

But that doesn’t mean I can tell the truth.
Of the past fifteen times, I’d only mentioned Jung Da won to Seo Hee jun once. I’d explained to him that she was the one he was meant to be with, that they were destined to be together, and that they had to be.

But, as expected, Seo Hee jun didn’t believe me. He just dismissed it as a mischievous joke from his senior, who always said strange things.

Even so, perhaps Seo Hee jun was bothered by my mention of Jung Da won, and from that day on, he avoided her. It was as if i had unnecessarily instilled in Seo Hee jun a negative feeling toward Jung Da won.

I couldn’t repeat the same mistake, so I changed the subject.

“There is something like that.”

Before Seo Hee-jun could ask any more questions, he pulled out the packet of medicine from his pocket and pushed it towards him.

“Take care of it.”

“What is this ?

“Digestive medicine.”

Seo Hee jun, who had been fiddling with the medicine bag, raised his head.

“Antacids ? why antacids all of a sudden ?”

“If you feel sick, don’t hold back and eat. Even if you feel even slightly unwell, go to the infirmary right away.”

Seo Hee jun dropped the packet of medicine onto the table, his mouth agape. He didn’t know if it was a flustered, unconscious act, but whatever the excuse, he needed to pack some digestive medicine just in case.

So i grabbed Seo Hee jun’s hand, forced it open, put the digestive medicine on his palm, and wrapped his hand with my own hands.
